Dell Technologies Inc. (NYSE:DELL) shares are trending on Tuesday night.

Shares of the Texas-based technology company jumped 5.95% to $489.01 in after-hours trading on Tuesday.

In the regular session, the stock closed at $461.56, up 1.48%, according to Benzinga Pro data.

The stock move came alongside a preliminary business update from Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI), a peer in AI servers. Super Micro said after the close Tuesday that it expects first-quarter revenue of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion, up from prior guidance of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. (NYSE:HPE) also gained 5.49% after hours. The move suggests investors read strong demand at one server maker as a sign of healthy demand for its rivals.

Chief Accounting Officer Reports Share Withholding

The move also followed Monday’s Securities and Exchange Commission filing in which Chief Accounting Officer Richard Troy Sharp reported his share withholding.

According to the SEC filing, Sharp had 146 shares withheld at $507.93 on Oct. 15. That is roughly $74,000. The filing says the shares covered taxes on vesting restricted stock units granted Oct. 15, 2025. Sharp held 6,584 shares afterward.

Tax withholding is not an open-market sale.

Separate filings on Monday show three Silver Lake-affiliated funds reported disposals totaling 51,591 shares of Class C stock. The filings describe the transactions as in-kind distributions initiated to certain Silver Lake employees and managing members, and say the reporting persons’ receipt of the shares was exempt from reporting.

Dell director Egon Durban, CEO of Silver Lake Group, L.L.C., reported 1,409,129 shares held directly.

Barclays Downgrades Dell to Equal-Weight

Last week, Barclays analyst Tim Long lowered his price target for Dell from $603 to $574 and downgraded the stock from Overweight to Equal-Weight. He cited concerns about its valuation following a gain of more than 300% this year. He also questioned whether companies adopting AI would spend enough on hardware to support Dell’s continued growth.

The company reported better-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results on Sept. 1. Revenue for the quarter came in at $46.97 billion, beating the $44.67 billion estimate by 5.14%. Earnings per share of $7.04 topped the expected $4.88 by 44.3%.
