Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) shares are trending on Thursday night.

Shares of the Californian technology company edged 1.64% down to $210.15 in after-hours trading on Thursday.

In the regular session, the stock closed at $213.66, down 0.80%, according to Benzinga Pro data.

The stock move followed reports that the Department of Justice is scrutinizing Nvidia’s planned $12.93 billion acquisition of open-source platform and community hub Hugging Face.

DOJ Antitrust Probe

According to the report, the inquiry covers Nvidia’s acquisitions, investments and sales practices, including whether the company pressured customers.

Officials are also examining whether the Hugging Face deal could give Nvidia control over a fundamental AI distribution point. They are probing whether it could let Nvidia disadvantage competing companies.

The stock move also came alongside a New York Times report Thursday that U.S. officials determined Alice Huang, a Singapore-based Megaspeed executive, was a Chinese intelligence asset who targeted the Nvidia CEO.

According to the report, President Donald Trump was briefed on the findings about a year ago but decided against acting.

Separately, Nvidia unveiled its OpenShell reference architecture at GTC Berlin to limit what AI agents can access and do. Earlier this week, BNP Paribas analyst Karl Ackerman estimated it could slow runtime by as much as 25%.
