Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said on Wednesday that any further U.S. military strike on Iran before the midterms would hand Michigan’s Senate seat to Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.

Greene Warns of Political Consequences

Greene said on X that President Donald Trump would be “dumb enough” to consider such an escalation, adding, “It’s a stupid senseless war and America hates it.”

She tied it to neoconservative influence within the Republican Party and distanced herself from both Democrats and neocon Republicans.

The Georgia Republican who resigned from Congress earlier this year has been a vocal critic of Trump’s economic and foreign policies, especially the Iran military campaign.

What Are Crypto Bettors Saying?

Notably, Trump said earlier this month that the U.S. won’t attack Iran before the Nov. 3 Midterms. However, Iranian officials believe Trump could resume attacks to break the deadlock and are preparing for the possibility of renewed strikes.

Polygon (CRYPTO: POL)-based Polymarket currently prices in a 71% chance that the ceasefire continued through the Midterms, down from 81% the day before.

These developments come amid reports that the U.S. military is scaling back its troop presence at bases across the Middle East, according to NBC News.

El-Sayed Favorite to Win Michigan

El-Sayed, who narrowly defeated establishment-backed Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) in Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary earlier this year, strongly advocates ending unconditional U.S. military aid to Israel. Trump has labeled him a “radical left socialist”

As of this writing, El-Sayed is a frontrunner to win Michigan, with 70% odds in his favor compared to 31% for Republican candidate and former FBI agent Mike Rogers.
