Disc Medicine Inc. (NASDAQ:IRON) on Wednesday shared initial results from the company’s RESTORE-PV Phase 2 update.

Initial RESTORE-PV Phase 2 Results

Disc said initial RESTORE-PV data showed its investigational DISC-3405 increased hepcidin and lowered serum iron, which the company linked to controlled hematocrit, reduced phlebotomy needs, and improved symptoms in patients with polycythemia vera (PV).

Significant Reductions In Phlebotomy Requirements

DISC-3405 significantly reduced phlebotomy events (the medical process of puncturing a vein with a needle to draw a blood sample) in Cohort A participants.

For n=13 patients completing 26 weeks of study, mean total phlebotomy events significantly decreased from 4.0 in 26 weeks at baseline to 0.6 in 26 weeks post-Day 1.

61.5% of participants remained entirely phlebotomy-free post-baseline through 26 weeks.

Of those who completed the first maintenance period (weeks 12-32, n=9), 77.8% of participants remained phlebotomy-free during this period.

Upcoming Milestones And Regulatory Pipeline

Disc plans to provide an update on RESTORE-PV, as well as initial data from the Phase 1b trial of DISC-3405 in sickle cell disease, by the end of 2026.

The company also expects to share feedback from an end-of-phase 2 meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and plans for pivotal development in anemia of myelofibrosis by the end of the year.

Key Support And Resistance Levels To Watch

From a trend perspective, the moving-average stack is still constructive: the 20-day SMA is above the 50-day SMA (bullish), and the stock is still working with the “golden cross” that triggered in August (50-day SMA above the 200-day SMA).

That said, with a recent swing high in August and a swing low in June, the current pullback looks like a test of whether that post-June recovery can hold above the mid-$70s area.

  • Key Resistance: $83.00 — a nearby round-number area where rebounds can stall after the stock slipped under shorter-term averages
  • Key Support: $71.50 — a nearby level that sits close to the longer-term moving-average zone where buyers have previously stepped in

Analyst Consensus & Recent Actions: The stock carries a Buy rating with an average price forecast of $101.67. Recent analyst moves include:

  • Wedbush: Outperform (Maintains Price Forecast at $100.00) (September 10)
  • HC Wainwright & Co.: Buy (Raises Price Forecast to $120.00) (August 6)

How Disc Medicine (IRON) Ranks On Momentum

Below is the Benzinga Edge scorecard for Disc Medicine, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses compared to the broader market:

  • Momentum: Bullish (Score: 80.22) — The stock’s trend profile is stronger than the broader market, even with the current pullback.

The Verdict: Disc Medicine’s Benzinga Edge signal reveals a momentum-driven story, with trend strength doing most of the heavy lifting in the current setup.

If momentum cools further, traders will likely focus on whether the stock can defend support near the low-$70s to keep the longer-term uptrend intact.

IRON Stock Price Activity: Disc Medicine shares were down 0.46% at $76.16 at the time of publication on Thursday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
