Ripple on Monday announced strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido, deepening its push to bring regulated tokenization infrastructure to the XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) Ledger.
What Do ZILO And Licuido Actually Do?
According to a Ripple press release, ZILO provides digital transfer agency and fund administration technology that gives asset managers and custodians modern record-keeping for tokenized share classes.
Licuido handles the issuance, distribution, and execution of traditional financial assets so they can move as digital collateral through on-chain atomic settlement infrastructure.
Together, the two investments solve a problem Ripple has been building toward since its Aviva Investors partnership earlier this year — tokenizing an asset is only the first step, and the real value comes from what institutions can do with it afterward.
“Tokenization of assets is only the starting point: the real value lies in what can be done with a token, including buying, selling, and settling trades instantly, or using it as collateral to borrow, lend, or post margin,” said Nigel Khakoo, SVP of Trading and Markets at Ripple.
Why This Fits Ripple’s Broader Institutional Push?
Ripple’s infrastructure now combines issuance, custody, collateral utility, and atomic settlement with RLUSD as the regulated cash leg for delivery-versus-payment transactions.
Tokenized funds can be used as collateral from the point of issuance and settle instantly on the XRPL.
The XRPL has processed more than four billion transactions since 2012, supports over seven million active wallets, and runs on 120 independent validators.
What The ETF Flow Data Shows
XRP ETFs have posted positive inflows every month since launch, with April bringing in $81.59 million, May peaking at $131.94 million, June adding $59.46 million, and July contributing $27.29 million according to SoSoValue.
The pace is decelerating but the direction has never flipped negative, pointing to steady institutional accumulation even as XRP’s price struggles at the chart level.
XRP Price Update: Key Technical Levels
XRP trades around $1.06, compressing into the apex of a descending channel intact since May.
The $1.05 to $1.07 floor has held since June but each test weakens it further, with no daily candle sustaining a move higher.
All four EMAs stack bearishly overhead with no crossover in sight.
Key levels for XRP:
- $1.09 — 20-day EMA, minimum level to reclaim to shift short-term bias
- $1.05 — floor that must hold; losing it opens $1.00 fast
- $1 — psychological support below
