Catheter Precision, Inc. (NYSE:VTAK) shares plummeted on Friday as traders reversed part of the stock’s recent headline-driven gains tied to its Flyte subsidiary and new patent announcements.
The decline appeared largely company-specific. The S&P 500 gained about 0.2%, while the healthcare sector slipped 0.4%.

What Drove VTAK’s Recent Volatility?
Earlier this week, Catheter Precision said Flyte would equip its Cirrus Vision Jet fleet with LifeVac airway-clearance devices. The stock had jumped 26.62% to 90 cents in after-hours trading on Tuesday following the announcement.
A day earlier, the company announced two patents: one covering its VIVO ventricular tachycardia mapping platform and another related to its Cardionomix heart failure portfolio.
Friday’s pullback reflects a giveback of those earlier gains in a highly volatile micro-cap stock. Catheter Precision remains down 79.50% over the past 12 months, while weakness in small-cap stocks also added pressure.
VTAK Underperforms Health Care Sector
Catheter Precision has currently fallen 26.47% on Friday, compared with a 0.44% decline for the health care sector, an underperformance of roughly 14 percentage points.
The sharp gap suggests company-specific volatility played a larger role than broader sector weakness.
What Does Catheter Precision Do?
Catheter Precision develops cardiac electrophysiology technologies, including the VIVO 3D mapping platform and LockeT suture retention device.
The company’s recent patent announcements may strengthen investor perceptions of its intellectual property portfolio. However, the Flyte and LifeVac partnership relates to safety preparedness within its regional air mobility business and does not directly alter the company’s longer-term financial outlook.
