Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has invoked Christian beliefs and a biblical warning to dismiss fears that artificial intelligence will surpass human intelligence or eventually replace humanity.
Marjorie Taylor Greene Says AI Can Never Replace Humans
On Thursday, Greene took to X to argue that AI would never replace humans because people create machines, while God created humans.
“AI, Artificial Intelligence, is not going to ever be able to replace people,” Greene wrote, adding that people should not believe claims to the contrary because “God will not allow it.”
“Remember the Tower of Babel? Yeah that didn’t work out and God did not allow it. It’s the same now,” she wrote.
Greene Rejects AI Superintelligence Predictions
She highlighted the distinction between human beings and machines and said people were created with a unique purpose and the possibility of spiritual redemption.
“God loves mankind. He created YOU to be special and to be redeemed by Him. Not to ever be replaced,” she wrote.
Greene also directly challenged the concept of artificial superintelligence, stating, “AI is NOT super intelligence. It’s artificial always.”
AI Leaders Warn of Superintelligence Risks
In 2025, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that while AI has already made impressive strides, it still struggles with tasks humans find easy, but expects it to develop capabilities beyond human intelligence by 2030.
Previously, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) also warned that AI could soon surpass human intelligence and operate beyond human control.
Geoffrey Hinton, often called the “Godfather of AI,” cautioned Congress that it may have roughly a year to put safeguards in place before AI becomes increasingly difficult to control.
