President Donald Trump said on Monday he “may” meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un later in the year, triggering a sharp jump in prediction-market odds.
‘I Get Along With Him’
During a press exchange, a reporter asked Trump if he planned to meet Kim while traveling to Asia in November.
“I may,” Trump responded. “That’ll be exciting, won’t it? But I get along with him.”
Betting crowd on Polygon (CRYPTO: POL)-based Polymarket lifted the probability of their meeting from 19% to 27% in just 24 hours.
Kim was the third-most likely leader on Trump’s meeting list, behind Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.

Trump-Kim Meet in China?
Trump has repeatedly said he wants to meet Kim again after the two leaders held three high-profile meetings during Trump’s first term, including an encounter at the Korean Demilitarized Zone.
He has defended his personal relationship with Kim, saying, “As long as I’m around, he’s going to be fine.”
Trump is scheduled to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in China next month and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in the Philippines.
North Korea, meanwhile, fired two ballistic vehicles from near Pyongyang on Monday, according to U.S. Pacific Command, with “no immediate threat” to U.S. personnel, territory or allies.
