XPeng Inc. (NYSE:XPEV) shares edged higher in Thursday premarket trading after the EV maker reported September and third-quarter delivery results.
Q3 Deliveries Rise As September Stays Near Last Year
XPeng delivered 41,256 vehicles in September, down about 0.8% from 41,581 a year earlier but up 5% from August.
Third-quarter deliveries reached 118,390 vehicles, up about 2.1% from 116,007 a year earlier and 15% from the previous quarter.
Monthly deliveries of the XPeng L03 exceeded 10,000 units in September.
XPeng also continued expanding its charging footprint. As of Sept. 30, its self-operated network covered more than 430 Chinese cities with over 4,000 stations, including more than 3,510 ultra-fast charging locations.
G9L Paris Launch Extends Europe Push
XPeng launched its G9L premium flagship SUV in China on Sept. 17 and plans to debut it globally at the Paris Motor Show from Oct. 12-18.
The company will open European order books and disclose pricing for the G9L at the show, which is set to become XPeng’s fourth model produced in Europe.
XPeng will also showcase AI-defined vehicles, humanoid robots and flying cars at the event.
XPeng and Tesla will be the only automakers participating in the show’s official Autonomous Lab, where XPeng plans its first large-scale NGP test-ride experience outside China.
NIO Q3 Deliveries Rise 25%
Rival NIO Inc. (NYSE:NIO) delivered 109,178 vehicles in the third quarter, up 25.4% year over year, while September deliveries rose 7.7% to 37,408.
NIO’s core brand deliveries jumped 55.3% in September, while ONVO deliveries fell 42.5%. The company also said third-quarter deliveries landed within guidance and is targeting average monthly deliveries above 40,000 in the fourth quarter.
Deliveries Remain A Key Growth Gauge
XPeng targets China’s midrange-to-premium EV market while expanding into autonomous driving and broader Physical AI technologies.
The company sold about 430,000 EVs in 2025, representing roughly 3% of China’s passenger new-energy vehicle market. That makes quarterly delivery trends an important gauge of product demand and operating scale.
