Thursday Pressure From Oracle Dispute

Dell Technologies stock faced downward resistance on Thursday afternoon following reports published Thursday morning regarding Oracle Corp (NYSE:ORCL). Reports revealed that Oracle sent a formal force majeure notice to developer Stack Infrastructure, a portfolio company of Blue Owl Capital.

The notice aims to suspend or defer Oracle’s payment obligations if construction and energy-permitting delays push the 2.45-gigawatt Project Jupiter data center campus in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, past its scheduled 2028 launch date.

Enterprise Hardware Exposure Risks

Dell serves as a core hardware supplier for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, providing x86 enterprise servers, custom liquid-cooled PowerEdge AI racks, and enterprise storage arrays. Investors fear potential delays at the $165 billion New Mexico site could disrupt deployment schedules and slow capital outlay pacing.

Oracle issued a statement Thursday afternoon asserting that Project Jupiter “remains on our planned schedule” and that the company is “fully committed to New Mexico.”

Technical Analysis

Dell remains in a clear longer-term uptrend, with price holding above all major moving averages: it’s trading 5.8% above the 20-day SMA ($528.98), 17.7% above the 50-day SMA ($475.64), 33.7% above the 100-day SMA ($418.70), and 97.9% above the 200-day SMA ($282.89).

That kind of spacing typically signals strong trend control, but it can also mean the stock is extended and more sensitive to pullbacks if momentum fades.

From a structure standpoint, the Golden Cross in March (50-day SMA above the 200-day SMA) continues to reinforce the longer-term bullish bias, while the prior swing high and 52-week high in September keep overhead levels in focus.

Traders will often treat that prior high zone as a “prove it” area — break and hold above it can extend the trend, while rejection can trigger a mean-reversion pullback toward faster moving averages.

DELL Stock Price Activity: Dell shares were up 4.97% at $562 at the time of publication on Friday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
