Shares of Lucid Group Inc (NASDAQ:LCID) are falling Monday afternoon as a macro-driven selloff across growth equities overshadows recent operational progress.

Here’s what investors need to know.

Automotive Tariff Threats and Macro Pressures Drag Lucid Lower

Risk appetite across growth equities took a hit Monday after President Donald Trump announced plans to impose 50% tariffs on Canadian auto imports starting in 2027.

The escalating trade friction sparked a selloff across the automotive supply chain, adding to existing pressures from elevated Treasury yields. Benchmark 10-year Treasury yields remain elevated near 4.7%, while 30-year yields hold near multi-year highs around 5.2%.

Traders are treading cautiously ahead of key economic catalysts later this week, including July Personal Consumption Expenditures inflation data on Wednesday and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh’s upcoming speech at the Jackson Hole symposium on Friday.

Retail Expansion in the Netherlands Continues European Hybrid Push

The macro-driven pullback overshadows an operational update last week confirming Munsterhuis Autobedrijven as Lucid’s first retail partner in the Netherlands.

The strategic partnership pairs Lucid’s Air sedan and Gravity SUV with Munsterhuis’ established sales, leasing and service infrastructure in Hengelo, complementing Lucid’s existing Hilversum studio as part of its hybrid European retail rollout.

Investors Weigh $1.4 Billion Restructuring Plan Against Sector Pressures

Investors continue to weigh recent retail expansion and robotaxi testing progress against the company’s second-quarter “operational reset” announced on Aug. 4. The strategy outlined $1.4 billion in target cash flow savings through capital expenditure reductions, workforce rightsizing and working capital optimization.

With $3 billion in total liquidity maintaining a runway into 2027, investor focus remains anchored on the manufacturing ramp-up at its AMP-2 facility in Saudi Arabia and execution on its upcoming midsize vehicle platform.
