Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the founder of Binance (CRYPTO: BNB), revealed on Saturday what “real wealth” means to him, stressing that it goes far beyond just money.
CZ’s Definition Of ‘Real’ Wealth
In an X post, CZ listed several factors that he believes are more important than money, including health, loved ones, time, freedom, credibility, principles and positive impact.
“Be a good and happy person. Never too late to start,” the cryptocurrency mogul offered his advice.
CZ was reacting to an X post about him being one of the richest individuals in the world, with an estimated net worth of nearly $79 billion.
CZ’s Journey Thus Far
CZ founded Binance in 2017, which has since grown to become the world’s largest cryptocurrency trading platform. According to Forbes, he owns an estimated 90% of the exchange plus a significant stash of its BNB tokens.
CZ was awarded a four-month prison sentence for anti-money laundering violations in 2024. He paid a $50 million fine and resigned as Binance’s CEO. He was subsequently pardoned by President Donald Trump.
The imprisonment made headlines as he was one of the wealthiest individuals to have served time in a U.S. federal prison. At the time of his sentencing, he was the 34th richest person in the world, with a net worth exceeding $40 billion.
Price Action: At the time of writing, BNB was exchanging hands at $871.26, down 1.15% in the last 24 hours, according to data from Benzinga Pro. The coin has gained 26% over the last year.
