U.S. stocks traded mixed midway through trading, with the Nasdaq Composite gaining more than 100 points on Friday.
The Dow traded down 0.49% to 49,143.17 while the NASDAQ gained 0.46% to 23,544.13. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.11% to 6,921.21.

In trading on Friday, financial stocks dipped by 1.3%.
Top Headline
The University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index rose to 56.4 in January from a preliminary reading of 54.0 and December’s reading of 52.9.
Equities Trading UP
- Movano Inc. (NASDAQ:MOVE) shares shot up 179% to $19.48 after the company announced that Corvex, with which it has recently combined, has secured a long-term NVIDIA H200 GPU deployment.
- Shares of Life360 (NASDAQ:LIF) got a boost, surging 28% to $70.12 after the company announced it raised its FY25 sales guidance.
- Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corporation (NYSE:BAH) shares were also up, gaining 9% to $104.62 after the company reported its fiscal third-quarter earnings.
Equities Trading DOWN
- Aptera Motors Corp. (NASDAQ:SEV) shares dropped 38% to $1.49 after the company announced pricing of $9 million public offering.
- Shares of Erayak Power Solution Group Inc. (NASDAQ:RAYA) were down 41% to $1.62 after the company issued a business update regarding recent market demand trends in the United States.
- The OLB Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:OLB) was down, falling 30% to $0.60 after the company announced the pricing of its $1.3 million registered direct offering.
Commodities
In commodity news, oil traded up 2.4% to $60.80 while gold traded up 0.9% at $4,956.30.
Silver traded up 3.6% to $99.845 on Friday, while copper rose 3% to $5.9540.
Euro zone
European shares were mostly lower today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 fell 0.16%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index fell 0.77%. London’s FTSE 100 fell 0.09%, Germany’s DAX gained 0.27% and France’s CAC 40 fell 0.08% during the session.
Asia Pacific Markets
Asian markets closed mixed on Friday, with Japan’s Nikkei gaining 0.29%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gaining 0.45%, China’s Shanghai Composite gaining 0.33% and India’s BSE Sensex falling 0.94%.
Economics
