Cryptocurrency punters sharply raised odds that President Donald Trump would be impeached before his term ends, as early midterm results pointed to a Democratic sweep of Congress.
Prediction Markets Weigh the Odds
Polygon (CRYPTO: POL)-based Polymarket currently sees a 63% chance of Trump’s impeachment by June 30, 2027, up 11 percentage points over the last 24 hours. Similarly, odds of an impeachment by the end of 2027 rose from 67% to 78%.
Trump’s chances of being impeached before leaving office jumped from 78% to 83% in the last 24 hours.

Stage Set for Democrat Takeover
The odds surged after The Associated Press called the Senate for Democrats, who are also nearing control of the House.
Democrats also led the gubernatorial results, winning 24 races to Republicans’ 18, while 8 contests remained uncalled.
The House holds the exclusive authority to initiate impeachment proceedings. The Senate then holds a trial and decides whether to convict or acquit the president.
Trump is the only U.S. president in history to be impeached twice, although he hasn’t been convicted.
‘Relentless Impeachment’ Ahead?
On the All-In Podcast, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) predicted two years of “relentless impeachment” if Democrats regain control of Congress.
“I believe the House will impeach Donald Trump if they [Democrats] have the House. They may impeach him multiple times,” Cruz stated.
Notably, Trump said in a rally last month that the Dems will “end up impeaching” him if GOP doesn’t win.
