AMD Sees 80% Revenue Growth in 2027

AMD CEO Lisa Su told analysts during the company’s third-quarter earnings call that revenue could grow more than 80% in 2027, more than doubling its previous long-term growth target of 35% or higher.

Analyst Patrick Moorhead highlighted the forecast on X, estimating that it could translate into more than $94 billion in revenue, compared with Wall Street’s $89.9 billion estimate.

Moorhead also noted that data centers could contribute more than 80% of AMD’s total revenue in 2027, with server revenue expected to double. He said the company expects AI chip sales to surpass server CPU revenue by a wide margin this quarter.

AMD’s server business more than doubled in the third quarter across cloud and enterprise customers, reflecting market share gains.

The company also has more than 240 OEM and ODM platforms committed to its upcoming Venice processors, with cloud availability expected in early 2027.

Futurum Group CEO Daniel Newman said AMD has a history of underpromising and overdelivering on its forecasts. “We see more of the same here,” he wrote on X.

Futurum Equities chief market strategist Shay Boloor highlighted the scale of AMD’s data center expansion, noting that the company generated $8.5 billion in data center revenue in a single quarter, compared with $6.5 billion in all of 2023.

CNBC’s Jim Cramer took to X and said, “AMD so far so good…moving up tech nicely.”

AMD posted third-quarter revenue of $13.38 billion, surpassing Wall Street’s expectations of $13.09 billion. Adjusted earnings came in at $2.09 per share, ahead of the consensus estimate of $1.95.

For the fourth quarter, the company projects revenue of approximately $17 billion, with a 3% margin of error, topping analyst expectations of $16.23 billion. AMD also anticipates an adjusted gross margin of around 55%, compared with 56% in the third quarter.

Super Micro’s AI Server Business Delivers Massive Quarter

Meanwhile, Super Micro reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue of $19.9 billion, nearly four times the approximately $5 billion it generated a year earlier, according to investor commentary.

The company also reported earnings of $1.81 per share, beating the $1.23 analyst estimate and raising its full-year revenue outlook to 72 billion-82 billion.

Boloor noted that Super Micro’s quarterly revenue has increased nearly tenfold over three years.

World Trade Securities CIO Nicholas Mugalli called the results “one of the best prints of the season,” arguing that the company’s strong performance could shift investor attention away from governance concerns and thin margins.

Mugalli maintained an Overweight rating and a $45 price target, describing the stock as “still cheap.”

The company forecasts second-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.66 to $1.90 per share, well above analysts’ expectations of $1.14.

Revenue is projected to range between $19.5 billion and $21.5 billion, compared with the consensus estimate of $17.4 billion.
