The 2026 midterm elections will determine which political party will control both the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. Some members are running for re-election to stay in Congress. Long-time congresswoman and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is among those exiting.
Say Goodbye to Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi
Around a year ago, Pelosi shared she would not seek re-election in the 2026 midterm elections, a decision that will see her leave Congress in January 2027.
“With a grateful heart, I look forward to my final year of service as your proud representative,” Pelosi said in a video, addressing San Franciscans.
Pelosi has been in Congress since 1987 and became the first female Speaker of the House, a role she held from 2007 to 2011 and from 2019 to 2023.
The congresswoman is currently serving in her 20th congressional term and is 86 years old.
Say Goodbye to Nancy Pelosi’s Stock Picks
Along with being known for her years in Congress, Pelosi has become well-known for her stock trading disclosures, which are trades made by her husband Paul Pelosi, a venture capitalist.
The trades are often for significant amounts of money and include trading millions of dollars in stocks and options in some of the most valuable companies.
Stock disclosures have shown millions of dollars in shares bought in some technology names, while other disclosures include an options strategy of buying in-the-money calls that expire in a year or two from the purchase date.
The Pelosis have had success with their trades, but some have also caused potential conflicts of interest and red flags, including buying Nvidia stock ahead of a vote on the CHIPS Act, which was set to benefit semiconductor companies such as Nvidia. Pelosi later reported selling the stock for a loss, a move that turned out to cause the couple to miss out on millions of dollars in potential profits years later.
Pelosi also disclosed buying Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) options ahead of pro-electric vehicle orders supported by President Joe Biden.
Disclosures have also shown sales of stock and options ahead of investigations, like the sale of Visa (NYSE:V) shares ahead of a recent Department of Justice probe.
Pelosi has said that she does not share any private information with her husband and that he makes his trades based on his own information and investment style.
Pelosi’s Latest Trades
Many investors track Pelosi’s trades, including the Pelosi Tracker on Autopilot, which has over $500 million in assets under management.
Pelosi has disclosed over 200 trades since 2014, totaling more than $225 million, according to data from Quiver Quantitative.
When Pelosi leaves Congress, she will no longer be required to disclose the stock and options trading activity of her husband. This could mean that investors have seen the last trades ever disclosed by the former Speaker of the House.
Trades made in 2026 include:
- Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE): stocks and options bought
- Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC): stocks and options bought
- Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER): options bought
- AllianceBerstein Holdings (NYSE:AB) stock bought
- Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN): calls exercised for stock
- Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL): calls exercised for stock
- NVIDIA Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA): calls exercised for stock
- Tempus AI (NASDAQ:TEM): calls exercised for stock
- Vistra Corp (NYSE:VST): calls exercised for stock
Pelosi has around two months left in Congress. Without more stock disclosures, these will go down as her last trades.
