Midterm elections are scheduled for Tuesday to decide who keeps control of Congress.

Will History Repeat?

Ali Martinez, a widely followed cryptocurrency analyst and trader, highlighted a pattern of “major” Bitcoin declines after the last 4 midterm elections.

Following the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 elections, Bitcoin fell 72%, 65%, 52%, and 27%, respectively.

“And if history repeats itself, BTC could be heading to another significant correction,” Martinez added.

Michaël van de Poppe, another popular cryptocurrency analyst and trader, held a different opinion.

“I believe that the midterms are already priced into the markets and are going to be a non-event,” Van De Poppe said.

The analyst added that Bitcoin is “at the end stage of the correction,” with a possible final low sweep, followed by a rally into year-end.
