Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) will appear at a Detroit church with Republican U.S. Senate nominee Mike Rogers on Sunday after being disinvited from an event with Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed.

The Associated Press reports that Stevens had been expected to appear alongside El-Sayed and Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.), but the arrangement fell apart following a dispute tied to Israel and a political ad backed by an outside organization.

Stevens, who lost the August Democratic Senate primary to El-Sayed by a narrow margin, has faulted El-Sayed for remarks connected to Israel, and tensions intensified after her fiancé said he planned to vote for Rogers while arguing El-Sayed hadn’t adequately addressed issues raised by Jewish voters.

In a statement released Friday, Stevens wrote, “Abdul promises to get money out of politics. He can begin by getting Israel out of his explanation for everything Michigan cannot afford.”

Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.), who worked to set up the original joint appearance, said she asked Stevens not to participate and that Stevens said she would comply.

El-Sayed has maintained a narrow but consistent lead over Rogers throughout the campaign. As of noon ET on Sunday, Kalshi gives El-Sayed a 77.0% chance of victory on Tuesday, while Polymarket gives El-Sayed an 80.7% chance.
