Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) CEO Elon Musk has renewed his interest in the idea of using Von Neumann probes to explore the galaxy.

Larry Page Has ‘Correctly Predicted’ Many Things in the Past

On Thursday, Musk quoted a post that shared a video of Microsoft Corp‘s (NASDAQ:MSFT) AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, who quoted former Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) CEO Larry Page that he would be “exploring the galaxies at the head of a Von Neumann probe” by the “end of the century.”

Musk said that humanity “would be winning wondrously” if the species became capable of “exploring the galaxy with Von Neumann probes by 2100!” The billionaire added that Page “might be right” and that he had “correctly predicted many things” in the past.

The billionaire has long touted a goal of helping humanity colonize other planets, saying that humans would need to reach a Kardashev II civilization and harness the entire energy of the sun to make deep space exploration possible.

He also said that there would be factories on the surface of the moon, while also touting the goal of creating a mass driver on the lunar surface.

Cathie Wood Touts 9% GDP

Investor Cathie Wood of ARK Invest, earlier this week, predicted that Musk-led enterprises like SpaceX and Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) could help push the economy from its long-running 3% real GDP growth environment toward 7%-9% growth.

Price Action: SPCX shares were down 2.86% to $139.78 during pre-market trading on Friday, while TSLA shares were also down 2.23% to $394.30 during pre-market trading.
