Real estate investor Grant Cardone challenged venture capitalist Jason Calacanis to a $1 million bet on Wednesday that Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) will surpass its all-time high within two years.
Will Calacanis Take the Bet?
Calacanis, host of the All-In podcast, said earlier in the week that Bitcoin will never break its all-time high again, predicting it retests its $57,000 low within the next 12 months.
Cardone saw it differently and dared Calacanis to put his money where his mouth was.
“Jason, I’ll bet you $1,000,000 it will break its ATH,” he said. “Do we have a bet?”
Cardone specified that the bet is either settled when Bitcoin hits or exceeds $126,210.50 by Oct. 28, 2028.
Calacanis responded with a touch of sarcasm, saying, “So much free money!”
Cardone also proposed an escrow to hold the money with a third party until the bet resolves. Calacanis’ response piqued interest.
The bet drew interest from other Bitcoin advocates, including JAN3 CEO Samson Mow and Blockstream CEO Adam Back, who offered to join if Calacanis agreed.
How Long Before New Highs?
Galaxy Digital’s head of firmwide research Alex Thorn argued the opposite case, saying Bitcoin bottomed in June and remains in an accumulation phase with a potential run back to $125,000.
Veteran investor Kevin O’Leary argued that regulatory uncertainty and growing quantum computing concerns are keeping Bitcoin institutional investors on the sidelines and holding the price around $80,000
Notably, bettors on Polygon (CRYPTO: POL)-based Polymarket don’t see Bitcoin breaking its all-time high this year.

Price Action: As of this writing, BTC is down 1.9% in the last 24 hours to $79,975.21, according to Benzinga Pro.
