Ripple is bringing RLUSD (CRYPTO: RLUSD) to Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN), expanding access to its stablecoin just days after striking a similar deal with Robinhood (NASDAQ:HOOD).

What the Coinbase Partnership Actually Covers

Ripple announced Wednesday that retail and institutional clients can now trade and manage RLUSD through Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Exchange and the Coinbase retail app, with 1:1 conversion from dollars and other USD-denominated stablecoins into RLUSD (CRYPTO: RLUSD).

Support for Coinbase Global Exchange customers, including using RLUSD as collateral, is coming next.

Ripple SVP of Stablecoins Jack McDonald said in a statement that institutional appetite for compliant stablecoins is clear, and the challenge has been making them accessible through platforms institutions already trust.

Coinbase Institutional Co-CEO Brett Tejpaul called the integration another step toward an “everything exchange” where clients pick assets that fit their strategy on secure, compliant infrastructure.

RLUSD now supports deposits and withdrawals across the XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) Ledger, Base and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), giving users flexibility to move the token across blockchain ecosystems.

Ripple will also provide liquidity on Base to support RLUSD’s growth there. Since launching in December 2024, RLUSD has surpassed $2.4 billion in market capitalization.

Why Ripple Expects $900 Million in Annualized Revenue

Ripple said Wednesday as cited by The Block it expects to exit 2026 with a $900 million annualized product revenue run rate, driven by growth across payments, custody, stablecoins, prime brokerage and treasury services.

Customers using multiple Ripple products have tripled this year, and Ripple’s payments network is approaching $150 billion in lifetime volume.

“As traditional and digital finance converge, market infrastructure is migrating to modern rails,” Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said.

“Settlement is moving to real-time, 24/7, and tokenized assets can be traded, financed and used as collateral,” he added.

The momentum follows a busy stretch for Ripple:

  • OCC approval: received final approval Monday to launch a national trust bank, while expanding its BNY partnership around tokenized trade finance on the XRP Ledger
  • Aviva Investors: launched a tokenized share class of its £22 billion sterling liquidity fund on the XRP Ledger, investing £50 million into it
  • Brevan Howard: expanded its Ripple relationship to include prime brokerage, clearing and financing
  • Ripple Prime: added swaps referencing more than 100 markets this month, with 24/7 trading and RLUSD usable as collateral
  • Kansas Jayhawks: became Ripple’s first college sports sponsorship, the first time a cryptocurrency appeared on a major program’s jerseys

Despite the momentum, XRP remains down nearly 30% this year, with an $83 billion market cap.

Spot XRP ETF volumes have climbed recently but still trail Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC), Ethereum and Solana (CRYPTO: SOL) ETFs, with total net assets near $1.5 billion as of Oct. 26.
