Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) could surge to $100,000 within months, with self-styled “value investor” Mike Alfred willing to bet up to $1 million that it reaches the milestone before falling to $60,000.

Why Is Mike Alfred Betting $1 Million?

Speaking with Anthony Scaramucci on All Things Markets on Oct. 24, Alfred dismissed bearish predictions that Bitcoin could collapse to $10,000 or even $5,000 if the stock market experiences a significant correction.

His comments followed a bearish forecast from Bloomberg Intelligence strategist Mike McGlone, who warned that a 20% stock market drawdown could trigger a severe Bitcoin sell-off.

Alfred argued that Bitcoin’s fundamental value remains intact regardless of short-term market volatility.

“Bitcoin is just sound money,” Alfred said, describing it as an alternative monetary system operating outside traditional fiat currencies.

He argued that persistent government deficits, rising debt and monetary expansion strengthen Bitcoin’s long-term investment case.

While acknowledging that liquidity constraints could temporarily pressure prices, Alfred emphasized that Bitcoin’s underlying protocol continues operating independently of market conditions.

Could Bitcoin Reach $300K In Five Years?

With Bitcoin trading around $80,000, Alfred predicted a rally to $100,000 within two to four months and $200,000 to $300,000 over the next three to five years.

He sees $57,000 to $58,000 as a potential long-term floor, declaring, “I’d be willing to bet up to a million dollars cash that it hits $100,000 before it hits $60,000.”

Scaramucci echoed the bullish outlook, citing Bitcoin’s potential to capture gold’s market share.

Alfred urged investors to view Bitcoin as a long-term store of wealth with a 10- to 20-year investment horizon.

What Could Drive Bitcoin’s Next Rally?

Alfred expects the recent weakness in AI and technology stocks to prove temporary, describing the sell-off as a midcycle correction rather than the end of the AI investment boom.

He anticipates renewed strength in technology stocks by mid-2027, potentially improving broader risk appetite.

On monetary policy, Alfred said a Fed rate hike at the Oct. 28 meeting was unlikely, although he expects a potential 25-basis-point increase in December.

Despite macroeconomic uncertainty, Alfred remains convinced that Bitcoin’s limited supply and independence from government monetary policy support its long-term appreciation.
