BILL Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:BILL) on Monday announced a new suite of agentic AI capabilities for finance teams.

The tools are aimed at improving payment security, organizing inbound documents, automating workflows and providing finance teams greater control over artificial intelligence.

The company also announced it recently surpassed $2 trillion in cumulative total payment volume since its founding.

BILL is trading higher by less than half a percent on Monday as traders fade the name despite a risk-on tape for growth and fintech-adjacent tech.

The Nasdaq is up 1.64% while the S&P 500 has gained 0.64%.

New AI Tools Target Payment Security And Enhanced Financial Controls

The company highlighted the rising need for stronger AI oversight, with 86% of small and medium-sized business leaders using AI tools in financial operations, but only 19% trusting AI completely.

BILL said its AI-powered risk intelligence analyzes invoices against vendors’ historical billing patterns and flags discrepancies before payments are scheduled.

In fiscal year 2026, BILL flagged nearly $1.5 billion in customer payments involving mistakes or unusual activity.

From August to September 2026, its risk intelligence platform detected on average $138,000 of mistakes or unusual payments per customer, saving them a total of 1,800+ days of manual work.

AI-Driven Efficiency

BILL’s new AI-assisted onboarding tool cut platform setup time by up to 50% and vendor customization time by up to 70%.

The company’s enhanced conversational AI feature, currently in beta, allows users to ask questions about vendor payments, invoices, card spending, recurring subscriptions and receivables.

Also, BILL’s external Model Context Protocol (MCP) enables its 9 million+ network members to connect their accounts to AI assistants.

The company highlighted operational achievements over the past year for its AI-powered platform, including automated collection of 240,000+ W-9s and automating 1.2 million invoices.

It prevented 9.64 million fraudulent attempts during the first half of 2026, saving an estimated $925 million in potential customer losses.

Technical Analysis

BILL is holding above its 20-day SMA ($44.40), 100-day SMA ($43.26), and 200-day SMA ($42.72), but it’s still trading 2.6% below its 50-day SMA ($46.94).

RSI at 51.44 is neutral, which lines up with a stock that’s consolidating rather than trending hard in either direction.

The moving-average structure is also sending mixed signals: the 20-day SMA remains below the 50-day SMA (a short-term bearish tilt), but the golden cross from August (50-day above 200-day) still argues the bigger trend hasn’t fully broken.

  • Key Resistance: $50.50 — a nearby round-number area where rebounds can stall
  • Key Support: $41.00 — a nearby level where buyers previously stepped in, closer to the broader support zone above the 52-week low ($31.41).

Earnings and Analyst Outlook

BILL’s next major scheduled catalyst is its Nov. 5 earnings report.

Analysts expect earnings of 96 cents per share, up from 61 cents a year earlier. Revenue is projected to reach $439.47 million, up from $395.74 million.

The stock carries a Buy rating with an average price forecast of $54.69.

Recent analyst actions include Truist Securities maintaining Hold and raising the price target to $52 on Sept. 1 and Wolfe Research maintaining an Outperform rating and raising the target to $60 on Aug. 25.

BILL Price Action: BILL Holdings shares were up 0.30% at $45.73 at the time of publication on Monday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
