Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:SPCX) CEO Elon Musk endorsed a vision for extending Starlink connectivity throughout the solar system and beyond.
Starlink Eyes Moon, Mars And Beyond
In a post on X on Tuesday, user X Freeze shared a video of SpaceX’s VP of Starlink, Michael Nicolls, saying that the company will “connect the Moon with a constellation” of Starlink satellites and then also Mars.
“We will form an interplanetary mesh of connectivity that is fundamentally driven by the same technologies we’re working on with Starlink,” Nicolls said. “SpaceX will provide connectivity throughout the solar system and beyond,” Musk said, quoting X Freeze’s post on Tuesday.
Recently, Musk touted Starlink’s in-flight connectivity prowess as a passenger on a flight livestreamed a college football game across five different devices. Following the video, United Airlines Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:UAL) called the technology a “game-changer.”
Meanwhile, SpaceX deployed the first units of the Starlink V3 Constellation during the first orbital launch of the Starship rocket with Flight Test 14.
SpaceX’s 32-Mile Pipeline, Elon Musk’s Trillionaire Status
SpaceX is also seeking regulatory approval in Florida as the company plans to build a 32.4-mile natural gas pipeline in Brevard County as it plans to move away from traditional truck deliveries and existing pipelines do not meet the company’s requirements any longer.
Musk, following SpaceX stock’s recent rally, reached trillionaire status again. However, Musk defended his trillion-dollar fortune against critics like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), saying that the critics like Sanders were “takers” and that his fortune was tied to Musk’s “ownership stakes in SpaceX and Tesla.”
Price Action: SPCX shares were down 1.95% to $168.57 during pre-market trading on Wednesday after closing 0.49% higher at $171.92 on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro.
