Elevance Health Inc. (NYSE:ELV) shares are jumping Thursday after the company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 earnings guidance ahead of a series of investor meetings. Here’s what you should know.

Elevance Reaffirms FY26 Earnings Guidance

Elevance Health disclosed that its leadership team is set to hold a round of conversations with investors and Wall Street analysts in the weeks ahead and plans to use those sessions to stand behind its full-year 2026 profit outlook. The company is sticking with an adjusted earnings floor of $20.10 per diluted share, a figure that sits just below the $20.26 analysts had penciled in and factors in close to $6.90 per share worth of unfavorable one-time items.

Strip those out, and Elevance says its underlying adjusted earnings should still clear $27.00 per diluted share, ahead of the $26.91 consensus estimate. The company noted that this outlook doesn’t build in any additional adjustments beyond what it already flagged when it released second-quarter 2026 results.

Elevance is also standing by its projection for how much of premium revenue gets consumed by medical costs this year, keeping its benefit expense ratio target at 90.2%, with half a percentage point of wiggle room in either direction.

Elevance’s Chart Shows a Stock in a Strong Uptrend

The stock’s technical setup lines up with today’s strength. Price currently sits above every major moving average tracked, running roughly 4% ahead of the 20-day mark and nearly 16% clear of the 200-day line, while the 20-day average holding above the 50-day keeps near-term momentum tilted upward.

Zooming out, the picture has looked healthy since a golden cross took shape back in May, when the 50-day average crossed above the 200-day, a technical development that longer-horizon traders often read as a green light. Elevance shares have climbed just over 36% across the trailing year, and the stock’s latest push puts it back in reach of its 52-week peak.

Momentum indicators tell a similar story. With the MACD line sitting above its own signal line and a positive histogram reading, the data points toward fading sellers and strengthening buyer conviction over the medium-term horizon. Investors are likely to focus next on whether shares can test the ceiling of their 52-week range without losing steam, a question made more interesting by an August dip below support that the stock has already clawed back above, the kind of reversal that can sometimes ignite a sharper move higher.

Resistance sits at $436, a clean round number just under the 52-week peak of $436.24, an area where past rallies have run out of gas. Support comes in near $391, aligning closely with the 100-day moving average at $391.14, a zone traders commonly treat as a spot to buy weakness.
