Anthropic briefly posted a salesperson job listing titled “Mega Account Executive, Meta,” aimed at selling its AI tools to Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META), one of its biggest customers and a growing rival.
A Delicate Balancing Act
The listing, posted Sept. 3 on Anthropic’s careers page, offered a $380,000 to $450,000 annual salary and sought someone to “win new business and drive revenue within a book of strategic digital native accounts,” Business Insider reported on Wednesday. It didn’t name Meta beyond the title.
According to the report, Anthropic removed the posting after Business Insider inquired about it.
Anthropic and Meta did not immediately respond to Benzinga‘s request for comment.
Not the Industry’s First ‘Frenemy’ Moment
