Moleculin Biotech Inc. (NASDAQ:MBRX) released updated blinded preliminary outcomes from Part A of its Phase 2/3 MIRACLE trial evaluating Annamycin with cytarabine for relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia.

Concurrently, the biopharmaceutical enterprise announced the pricing of a public stock offering valued at 75 cents per share to fund its ongoing clinical programs.

The stock tanked after the company priced its $9.3 million public offering at a steep discount to the previous closing price, fueling investor concerns about dilution.

Preliminary MIRACLE Trial Results

The latest trial data, covering 62 evaluable participants, showed a blinded complete remission rate of 24% and a composite complete remission rate of 37%.

Approximately 48% of these patients had failed prior AbbVie Inc. (NYSE:ABBV) Venclexta (venetoclax)-based treatments, demonstrating equivalent response rates to the overall study group.

Because current figures remain blinded and incorporate control subjects, they are lower than the unblinded June 2026 interim readout, which registered composite remission rates up to 57% in the Annamycin arms compared to 29% in the control cohort.

Enrollment Progress And Timeline

Trial recruitment has expanded to 74 of 90 planned subjects across 33 global clinical sites.

The MIRACLE study is offered to second-line leukemia patients who have received a single prior induction therapy, with recruitment ongoing across the U.S. and Europe.

The company expects to treat its 90th patient in September 2026, with full data unblinding anticipated between December 2026 and February 2027.

Crucially, trial administration continues without any recorded signs of cardiotoxicity.
