On Wednesday, Paris-based Pasqal announced that it penned a strategic long-term collaboration with True Nexus, which focuses on making protein functionality programmable for real‑world food applications.
Details
As per the deal, Pasqal will apply its quantum computing technology to precisely model and predict protein functionality, mainly focusing on gelatin, texture, and overall behavior in the complex food systems.
In particular, Pasqal and True Nexus are developing the first fully vectorized, dynamic 3D model of protein gelation, a key functional property in food systems.
With this partnership, the companies aim to create a reference model for protein functionality that food and ingredient companies can use to guide seed development, crop optimization, and precision fermentation when traditional proteins are insufficient.
Dominik Grabinski, CEO of True Nexus, added, “For decades, the industry has been constrained by a lack of true computational understanding of protein behavior,”
“This is the breakthrough that can shift the entire sector from trial‑and‑error to true design.”
Pasqal Going Public Soon
Last month, Pasqal disclosed that it is merging with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II (NASDAQ:BBCQ) in a SPAC deal.
The transaction values Pasqal at a pre-money equity of $2.0 billion and the combined company at a pro forma enterprise value of $2.0 billion.
Pasqal expects to garner over $600 million in gross proceeds from the deal.
Post-closure, the company will operate as Pasqal and list on Nasdaq.
The agreement positions Pasqal to fast-track its technology and product development, advance toward quantum advantage and fault-tolerant quantum computing, and expand its international growth initiatives.
