U.S. stocks traded mostly higher this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 200 points on Monday.

Following the market opening Monday, the Dow traded up 0.44% to 45,364.88 while the NASDAQ rose 0.03% to 20,955.34. The S&P 500 also rose, gaining, 0.21% to 6,382.37.

Leading and Lagging Sectors

Utilities shares climbed by 1.3% on Monday.

In trading on Monday, industrials stocks fell by 0.7%.

Top Headline

Shares of Americas Gold and Silver Corporation (AMEX:USAS) fell around 13% on Monday after the company released earnings results for the fourth quarter.

The company reported fourth-quarter losses of 14 cents per share, versus market estimates of earnings of 4 cents per share. The company reported quarterly sales of $37.064 million which beat the analyst consensus estimate of $33.229 million.

  • Bullfrog AI Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:BFRG) shares shot up 134% to $1.19 after the company announced a commercial agreement with a top five global pharmaceutical company to apply its proprietary bfLEAP platform to identify and prioritize novel drug targets in major depressive disorder.
  • Shares of PMGC Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:ELAB) got a boost, surging 122% to $3.70 after the company announced its subsidiary NorthStrive Bioscience signed a licensing agreement amendment with MOA Life to speed up the timing and key development milestones for EL-32 and EL-22 human clinical development program. Also, the company reported a year-over-year expansion of its asset base.
  • Iterum Therapeutics plc (NASDAQ:ITRM) shares were also up, gaining 97% to $0.0701.

Equities Trading DOWN

  • Roma Green Finance Limited (NASDAQ:ROMA) shares dropped 29% to $4.47 as the company announced a $100.0 million share repurchase program.
  • Shares of Skycorp Solar Group Ltd (NASDAQ:PN) were down 41% to $0.5950.
  • Viridian Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ:VRDN) was down, falling 34% to $18.15 following the announcement of topline results from the REVEAL-1 Phase 3 clinical trial for elegrobart, for thyroid eye disease (TED).

Commodities

In commodity news, oil traded up 2.7% to $102.33 while gold traded up 1.5% at $4,561.90.

Silver traded up 1.2% to $70.645 on Monday, while copper fell 0.1% to $5.4915.

Euro zone

European shares were higher today. The eurozone’s STOXX 600 rose 0.4%, while Spain’s IBEX 35 Index rose 0.3%. London’s FTSE 100 surged 1.1%, Germany’s DAX gained 0.2% and France’s CAC 40 rose 0.4% during the session.

Asia Pacific Markets

Asian markets closed mostly lower on Monday, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 falling 2.79%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index declining 0.81%, China’s Shanghai Composite gaining 0.24% and India’s BSE Sensex dipping 2.22%.

Economics

The Dallas Fed manufacturing index will be released today.
