SkyBridge Capital founder Anthony Scaramucci slammed on Sunday an anti-cryptocurrency op-ed by Biden-era economic advisors, arguing it plays into Republican hands.

Scaramucci Criticizes ‘Clueless Democrats’

Scaramucci shared a newspaper clipping from a New York Times opinion piece by former Biden Council of Economic Advisors Chair Jared Bernstein and Ryan Cummings, a former staff economist at the council.

The piece criticized the Trump administration’s support for the industry, labelling cryptocurrencies as “useless” and that its ongoing slump validated the authors’ long-held skepticism.

“The two Democrats are clueless when it comes to crypto,” Scaramucci said. “They will keep the Republicans in power if they don’t learn about and embrace this technology.”

The two Biden-Era officials have been vocal critics of the asset class. Last week, Bernstein called cryptocurrency an asset with “almost zero legal use cases” that’s “pretty good for scammers.”

Scaramucci Backs Trump’s Crypto Policies But…

While Scaramucci has been a vocal critic of Trump’s broader economic and foreign policy decisions, the financier has lauded the administration’s attempt to support the cryptocurrency industry, including Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC).

In fact, he said earlier this year that the Trump administration is “far better” for cryptocurrency than what Joe Biden or Kamala Harris would have been.

Lately, Scaramucci has warned of a Republican defeat in the upcoming midterms, citing President Donald Trump’s record-low approval ratings.

A new Emerson College poll conducted before the State of the Union showed Trump’s disapproval rating surging to 55%, the highest since he took office last January. A CNN poll also showed declining support among White Americans and core Republican voters.
