Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. (NYSE:BABA) is expanding its artificial intelligence footprint with a new multi-model coding subscription that bundles several leading open-source models into a single plan, aiming to simplify developer access and strengthen its cloud competitiveness.
Alibaba Cloud Model Studio Coding Plan
On Feb. 25, Alibaba Cloud Model Studio launched its most advanced Coding Plan yet, expanding API access to four major open-source models, Qwen3.5, GLM-5, MiniMax M2.5, and Kimi K2.5, under a single subscription.
The company now allows users to switch freely among multiple models, rather than relying on a single model, offering improved stability and higher token limits.
Alibaba Cloud said it is currently the only global cloud provider offering a multi-model coding subscription of this kind, Pandaily reported on Wednesday.
After subscribing, users can access the models through developer tools such as Qwen Code, Claude Code, Cline, and OpenClaw.
Alibaba Cloud described the four newly added models as leading open-source options.
Model Capabilities And Technical Highlights
Qwen3.5, a multimodal model open-sourced on Lunar New Year’s Eve, uses 397 billion total parameters with 17 billion activated and performs strongly across reasoning, programming, and agent benchmarks.
GLM-5 is Zhipu AI’s newest flagship open-source model, and its API services have experienced surging demand since debut.
MiniMax M2.5 focuses on agent-based use cases, including advanced Excel processing, research, and Office tasks. Kimi K2.5 improves coding and agent capabilities.
With this update, Alibaba Cloud’s Coding Plan now includes eight programming-focused models.
